Abnormal (1996)
Townes Van Zandt

One of the many posthumous live albums issued by Normal Records. This is a collection of acoustic solo performances recorded during shows throughout Europe. The aging and sick Townes sounds even more weary and tired than usual, and the general mood of these cuts ranges from melancholy to downright depressing. Most of his song characters could easily inhabit the metaphorical landscape sketched on Another Man Done Gone. Actually, a version of "Dollar Bill Blues" was originally intended to be on the album.
